Paul lives with his mother in a mental institution, where she works as a nurse. He spends his days playing in the forest and taking care of wounded birds. One day he meets Gloria, a young patient who has just arrived at the hospital, and decides to run away with her. Fabrice du Welz returns to the Ardennes woods, where he filmed Calvaire and Alleluia, to recount a teen odyssey of freedom, love and insanity, where emotions are so pure that they hurt.

At a Christian summer camp, Louise and Maria have to take care of Erna, a new girl who has just arrived. They soon realize that she is a little different, and that she may be obsessed by Satan. This is the story of the two young girls’ need to belong, their vivid imagination and how the combination of the two can have a fatal outcome.
