SILVER MÉLIÈS FOR BEST FANTASTIC EUROPEAN SHORT FILM @ MOTELX

Jury: Emily Gotto (Shudder), Josh Waller (producer, director), Sónia Balacó (actress, writer)

Statement: Our decision was made difficult by the quality of the films in this year’s MOTELX edition and I would like to first congratulate all of the directors.
The film we chose stands out impressively with its ethereal cinematography, and a writing and directing that reveal confidence, depth and grace. With him we journeyed into the shadows of childhood, the first encounters with death and that first mystery. We gave the Méliès d’argent Award – Best European Short to a director we hope to see much more of – “Our Kingdom” by Luís Costa.
