Méliès d’argent Award Winner – Short Films @ RAZOR REEL 2023
The winner of the Méliès d’Argent Award for Best European Fantasy Genre Short Film at the Razor Reel Flanders Film Fest 2023 is “The Smile” by Erik van Schaaik (The Netherlands).
A story about beauty and horror. The definitive biopic documentary, delving into the life and downfall of Knud Dendermonde, the infamous damsel-devouring horror-movie actor we all know as The Smile. Through interviews, movie clips, and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, the shocking truth is finally revealed.
The competition is organized in collaboration with the Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF). The winners of the competitions also win the nomination to the Méliès d’or annual competition.
