The winner of the Méliès d’Argent Award for Best European Fantastic Genre Short Film at the Ramaskrik Film Festival is “Réel” by
Rodrigue Huart (France, 2024).

The jury, which consisted of film director Rob Savage, film producer Bente Maalen and screenwriter Sindre Kartvedt, says the following about the winner:
«A crucial component of the short film concept is in the name – short.
Our winning entry consists of a single, simple idea, goes all the way with it, stays within the limits of its concept, and manages to make a wry comment on one of the defining issues of our time.»

Ramaskrik is part of the Méliès International Festivals Federation, an association currently consisting of 31 film festivals, whose mission it is to promote European fantastic cinema around the globe. The Méliès d’argent is awarded to short films for cinematic quality and creativity. The winning short film at Ravenna Nightmare qualifies for the competition for the Méliès d’or.
