The winners of Horror Festival Donostia 2025

Last Friday, 7 November, saw the end of the movie screenings at the 36th San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival.
The number of people who flocked to the movie screenings at the Principal and Victoria Eugenia theatres and TBK stood at 11,845 spectators, and several of the screenings were sold out. Participants in the other activities, including workshops on Saturday 1st, as well as the exhibitions, came to 8,697.
A total of 20,542 spectators enjoyed the selection of activities organised by the Festival until 9 November.

Méliès d’argent Award Winner – Short Films @ Horror Festival Donostia 2025

The winner of the Méliès d’Argent Award for Best European Fantastic Genre Short Film at the Horror Festival Donostia is “Mater Benefacta” (2024), directed by Marc Riba and Anna Solanas (Spain, 12 min, Animation).
Set in a convent in Franco’s Spain, the film follows nuns who offer shelter to young girls in need…
Horror Festival Donostia is part of the Méliès International Festivals Federation, an association currently consisting of 33 film festivals, whose mission it is to promote European fantastic cinema around the globe. The Méliès d’argent is awarded to short films for cinematic quality and creativity. The winning short film qualifies for the competition for the Méliès d’or.
