Méliès d’argent Award Winner – Short Films @ GRIMMFEST 2024
The winner of the Méliès d’Argent Award for Best European Fantastic Genre Short Film at the GRIMMFEST is “Coléoptère” by Martin Gouzou (France, 2024).
A free interpretation of “The Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka. Grégoire Samsa is a solitary young man, a building caretaker, always ready to help everyone, in order to exist. Scorned, even by his adoptive mother, Grégoire will begin an uncontrolled mutation… COLEOPTERE is a fantastic fable about the physical and psychological metamorphosis of a young man without history who seeks to be loved and accepted.
GRIMMFEST is part of the Méliès International Festivals Federation, an association currently consisting of 30 film festivals, whose mission it is to promote European fantastic cinema around the globe. The Méliès d’argent is awarded to short films for cinematic quality and creativity. The winning short film at GRIMMFEST qualifies for the competition for the Méliès d’or.
