The winners of Court Métrange 2026

Held annually in Rennes, France, Court Métrange is an international festival dedicated to strange, unusual and fantastic short films. Founded in 2004, the festival has established itself as an important European event for genre short filmmaking, presenting a diverse international selection of bold, unconventional and imaginative works. A member of the Méliès International Festivals Federation, Court Métrange awards the Méliès d’argent to outstanding European fantastic short films, contributing to the promotion and recognition of European genre cinema.

The winner of the Méliès d’Argent Award for Best European Fantastic Genre Short Film at Court Métrange is “Lanugo” by Félix Dobaire (France, 2026)
Behind her old miniDV camera, Ambre films her everyday life to fill a void. When she meets Malo, her neighbor, it’s love at first sight. At least until his presence begins to feel… intrusive.
Court Métrange is part of the Méliès International Festivals Federation, an association currently consisting of 35 film festivals, whose mission it is to promote European fantastic cinema around the globe. The Méliès d’argent is awarded to short films for cinematic quality and creativity. The winning short film qualifies for the competition for the Méliès d’or.
