Founded in 2010, SLASH Filmfestival has grown into Vienna’s leading meeting point for fantastic film, bringing together horror, science fiction, fantasy and the many shades in between. Across its programme, international films meet talks, special events and programmes that explore the genre in all its forms, creating a space where filmmakers, audiences and lovers of fantastic cinema come together.

For its 17th edition in 2026, SLASH once again joins the Méliès International Festivals Federation with competitions dedicated to both feature and short films.
