SLASH 2025 Announces Méliès d’Argent Winner
We’re thrilled to celebrate the winner of the Méliès d’Argent for Best European Fantastic Short Film at the SLASH Festival in Vienna 2025.
And the Melies d’argent winner is…
Méliès d’argent Award Winner @ SLASH 2025
The winner of the Méliès d’Argent Award for Best European Fantastic Genre Short Film at SLASH Vienna is “Don’t be afraid” directed by Mats Udd.
A ghost story about a depressed photographer making a comeback with newly taken photos at the location where his son once disappeared. At the exhibition, visitors discover that someone is actually standing in the background of the photos.
SLASH Festival is part of the Méliès International Festivals Federation, an association currently consisting of 33 film festivals, whose mission it is to promote European fantastic cinema around the globe. The Méliès d’argent is awarded to short films for cinematic quality and creativity. The winning short film at Grossmann qualifies for the competition for the Méliès d’or.
