Méliès International Festivals Federation welcomes FANT Bilbao as a new member

The Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF) has the great pleasure of welcoming the FANT Bilbao as a competitive member. At their upcoming festival in May 2025, FANT will run the short film competition for the Méliès d’argent for the best European short film.

About FANT

Founded 30 years ago, Bilbao Fantasy Film Festival (FANTBilbao) starts the first weekend of may and continues its commitment to offer more and more content. 18 feature and more than 30 short films are on official competition. FANT is one of the oldest festivals in the City and we are once again ready to welcome all fantasy-genre lovers to our cinemas, where they will find very interesting, diverse and innovative proposals over 9 days full of interesting cinematographic proposals.

Founded 40 years ago, the The Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF) promotes European fantastic cinema throughout the world. As of today, the Federation has 30 members from 21 countries over four continents, reaching a worldwide audience of more than 900.000 each year. The member festivals run the competitions for the Méliès d’argent for best European feature film and short film. Out of the winning films, a jury awards the Méliès d’or for best feature and short film every year in Sitges. It also awards a Career Méliès to a person with outstanding contributions to European fantastic cinema.
