Lund Selections 2025

The 2025 edition of Lund Fantastic Film Festival takes place from October 24 to 31, bringing once again the best of fantastic cinema to Sweden’s city of dreams and nightmares.

Lund Fantastic is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to promoting fantastic film from all over the world. The festival is mainly run by passionate volunteers who share a deep love for storytelling and genre cinema. Its everyday operations are managed by the work group, while major decisions are made by the board of the festival, ensuring open dialogue and collective creativity in shaping each new edition.


Lund 2025 Announces Méliès d’Argent Short Film Competition Lineup

Presented in collaboration with the Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF), this competition highlights bold and visionary short films from across Europe. Here is the official 2025 selection:

Agony – dir. Eulàlia Ramón
2024: A Swiss Odyssey – dirs. Florian Rudolph, Yueqi Wu & Kyrylo Alferie
Signal – dirs. Emma Carré & Mathilde Parquet
Behind the Door – dir. Justus van den Elsen
Terminus – dir. Ashley Butcher
Greying – dir. Paul Guédon
Ever After – dir. Helen Hideko

The winner will move forward to compete for the Méliès d’Or, the highest award for European fantastic short films.

Lund Fantastic Film Festival short film selection once again affirms the festival’s role as a platform for daring stories, new visions, and genre-defying creativity. The winning short will qualify for the Méliès d’Or competition, which annually crowns the best European fantastic short film across the MIFF network.

The Méliès d’Argent competition for Best European Feature Film returns to Lund Fantastic Film Festival 2025, celebrating visionary, bold, and unforgettable works of fantastic cinema from across Europe.

The winner will be automatically nominated for the prestigious Méliès d’Or (Sitges 2026), the top prize for European fantastic feature films.

Lund continues to push the boundaries of imagination and genre, creating a unique space where fantasy, horror, sci-fi, and the surreal converge.
