Isla Calavera Tenerife Selection 2025

Isla Calavera Fantastic Film Festival 2025: First Méliès d’Argent Selection
The Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival Isla Calavera takes place annually in San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Tenerife), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and has been running without interruption since 2017. It is the only festival in the Canary Islands dedicated exclusively to fantastic cinema, featuring feature and short film competitions alongside non-competitive sections and screenings of genre classics.
For the first time, Isla Calavera joins the Méliès d’Argent circuit, presenting a selection of European fantastic short films competing for the prestigious Méliès d’Argent Award. The festival combines screenings with educational activities, exhibitions, and talks, fostering the promotion of fantastic cinema both locally and internationally.
