The 44th edition of the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF) will take place over 16 days, from April 4 to 18, 2026, with a half-time break on Monday, April 13. This extended edition will feature an expanded programme of fantasy, science fiction, and surreal cinema, showcasing a diverse range of extraordinary films.

The official poster for BIFFF 2026 has been created by Ana Miralles, a leading figure in contemporary fantasy art. Known for her bold, sensual, and dreamlike style, Miralles has worked on acclaimed projects including the series Djinn and contributions to Métal Hurlant and Heavy Metal. Her artwork embodies the spirit of the festival and the adventurous, surreal tone of this edition.

BIFFF is a longtime member of the Méliès International Festivals Federation, contributing to the promotion of European fantastic cinema through its short and feature film competitions, including the Méliès d’argent awards.

The winner will move forward to compete for the Méliès d’Or, the highest award for European fantastic short films.

The winning short will qualify for the Méliès d’Or competition, which annually crowns the best European fantastic short film across the MIFF network.
