BIFFF 2025: Méliès d’Argent Short Film Competition
The Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF) returns in 2025 with a rich and diverse lineup of short films competing for the Méliès d’Argent for Best European Fantastic Short Film.
This year’s competition includes 14 films representing a broad spectrum of genre cinema—from psychological horror to surreal animation, dark fantasy to sci-fi satire. Each short showcases the vibrant creativity of Europe’s genre filmmakers.

Winners of the Méliès d’Argent will go on to compete for the prestigious Méliès d’Or, awarded to the best European fantastic short of the year by the Méliès International Festivals Federation.
