Wench Film Festival
February 27, 2025 | March 2, 2025
India
Wench Film Festival is India's first Horror / Sci-Fi / Fantasy Film Festival showcasing films inclusive of LGBTQ+ women, and non-binary filmmakers.
Since its first edition in 2021, WFF has screened 188 films and Spotlighted 495 Women. Even though WFF gives preference to films Directed by Women and Non-Binary Filmmakers, they do however have a special category for Male Filmmakers who have directed films with a central female plot or key female HOD's.
Wench Film Festival 2025 saw exponential growth, expanding its reach beyond India and cementing its place in the global horror circuit. The festival unfolded across two cities and three distinct locations, making its presence felt more strongly than ever. With a record number of submissions from international filmmakers, exclusive premieres, and collaborations with major genre festivals like Fantasia and Imagine, and the launch of Terror Talkies - India's first Horror publication, Wench evolved into more than just a festival—it became a movement. Its programming delved deeper into experimental horror, blending interactive experiences, live performances, and cutting-edge genre discourse. The response was electric, proving that Wench isn’t just a festival to watch; it’s a force reshaping the future of horror.
Wench Film Festival will continue to be a crucial pillar of the Wench blue-print that is committed to empowering the women and the non-binary voice with support across the entire value chain in the creator economy – Education, Funding, Community and Distribution.
"After three days men grow weary of a wench, a guest, and weather rainy." ~ Benjamin Franklin.
So do wenches my dear Benjamin, so do wenches.
