Maskoon Fantastic Film Festival

Maskoon — which means haunted in Arabic — is the only festival in the region focusing exclusively on modern genre films, bringing the best horrors, thrillers, fantasy and action films from around the globe to Beirut and, by default, to the Arab World.
During the five days event, a selection of modern genre films from all over the world are screened to the public in addition to a cult classic film, a Lebanese short films competition, public masterclasses, industry panels and a cine concert for the closing.
Maskoon debuted in 2016 and has screened the MENA premieres of many acclaimed international films such as Swiss Army Man, Under The Shadow, Baskin, Psycho Raman, The Nile Hilton Incident, Good Manners, Jupiter's Moon, The Villainess, Cold Hell, Burning, Border, The Guilty, Dachra, Tigers Are Not Afraid…
The festival has hosted many guests who attended to present their films, public masterclass, industry panels and cine concerts such as composer Fabio Frizzi, filmmakers Can Evrenol, Eric Valette, Marco Dutra, Juliana Rojas, Alexandre Philippe, Abdelhamid Bouchnak, Damien Ounouri,Serge Bromberg, actress Violetta Schurawlow, festival programmers and directors Evrim Ersoy, Anais Emery, Thierry Phlips, Karel Och, Nicole McControversy, Mike Hostench, Gerald Duchaussoy, SFX and VFX artists Dan Frye, Chadi Abo, poster designer Laurent Durieux…
