FrightFest is Great Britain’s biggest non-subsidised Horror Fantasy Festival. Taking place every last August Bank Holiday Weekend at the Odeon West End in London’s Leicester Square, FrightFest attracts massive audiences, celebrity attendance and media coverage. It is organised by Alan Jones, international horror journalist, bestselling author and broadcaster, Paul McEvoy, genre expert and specialist owner of The Cinema Store in the capital’s Upper St Martin’s Lane, and Ian Rattray, experienced film booker and distributor.
FrightFest’s brand reputation has been further enhanced by it presenting one-off world premieres, star-studded all-day previews, themed strands within other suburban festivals, and a mini United Kingdom provincial tour. FrightFest also has its own DVD label, releasing in the UK many of its popular festival selections, and book line including the ‘FrightFest Fearbook’. With plans to extend its current main event from four days to a week, increase its venues and host a sponsored awards ceremony, FrightFest is poised for an even brighter future
